How to Enable or Disable Javascript

 

Internet Explorer

To enable or disable Javascript in Internet Explorer, do the following.

  • Click Tools, Internet Options from the Internet Explorer menu bar:

Tools --> Internet Options

  • From the dialogue box that appears, click the Security tab, as in the image below:

  • Click the Custom Level button as the bottom of the Security tab, and you'll see another box appear. Scroll down to near the bottom of the new box, and locate Scripting:

To enable Javascript, make sure Enabled is selected under Active Scripting. To switch Javascript off, select Disable. Keep clicking OK until you get back to Internet Explorer.

If you set it to Prompt, you'll see the following pop up box appear, every time a script tries to run in Internet Explorer:

Click Yes to allow the page to run the script, or No if you're unsure about the site.

 

Firefox

To enable or Disable Javascript in Firefox, do the following.

  • Click Tools, Options from the Firefox menu bar:

Click Tools --> Options in Firefox

  • From the dialogue box that appears, click the Content tab, as in the image below:

Click the Content Tab

Put a tick in the box Enable JavaScript, to switch it on. Click OK.
